If Kyle Busch is running a Skittles paint scheme on his #18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, there is a pretty good chance he is bringing a Skittles delivery tool to the track.
This time weekend at the ISM Raceway in Phoenix, it’s a 34” x 16” replica of the Sweet Heat racecar he is running this weekend with a retractable hood that stores up to 100 packs of the new, nationally available candy. The new Sweet Heat product has new flavors including Sizzlin’ Strawberry, Fiery Watermelon, Flamin’ Orange, Lemon Spark and Blazin’ Mango.Previously, Kyle has had a Green Apple cooler scooter or Skittles-dispensing race helmet.
Is the black Skittles #18 with Sweet Heat going to be able to knock Kevin Harvick out of victory lane? Harvick has made victory lane his home in the last two NASCAR Monster Energy Cup races. But, Busch has been one of the fastest cars this weekend at ISM Raceway running the third quickest in the first two practice sessions and he qualified seventh for Sunday’s race.
Kyle has won one time at ISM Raceway in Phoenix (2005) and has eight top ten finishes in the last ten races including five in a row. Even better, in three races running Skittles on the hood, Kyle finished 9th (2014), 4th (2016) and 3rd in this race last year.
