DAYTONA BEACH, FL (April 16, 2020) – After a strong Final podium finish in the inaugural Subaru iRX iRacing All-Star Invitational Rallycross presented by Yokohama, young Conner Martell looks to move to the top step in the winner’s circle in Round 2 set for Friday, April 17, at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT in the virtual Daytona International Speedway circuit.

Martell, the 2018 ARX2 series champion, drove the No. 21 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing Oil2Soil Subaru WRX STI Super Car to a heat race victory last week and then battled some of the top Rallycross racers in the world to finish third behind Mitchell deJong and Scott Speed in the 10-lap finale over Norway’s Hell Lankebanen virtual course.

Now, the star-studded International field which includes drivers from World and American Rallycross, IndyCar, NASCAR, NHRA, Off-Road, Action Sports, Supercross and Formula Drift takes on the Daytona short pavement/dirt combination course in the wild virtual competition.

“I am very excited for this coming Friday at Daytona as I have been doing a lot of practicing on my SimCraft Apex4 rig,” said Martell, a five-time ARX2 main event winner in the 2018 and 2019. “I have gotten my proper shifter and e-brake set up, so it’s really nice to be able to use it versus my previous setup. That one required me to push a little button on my dash to use the e-brake.

“I can’t thank SimCraft enough for being able to get this all together in such short notice. I’ve been putting down 34-second lap times, so I am feeling pretty comfortable with the rest of the pack. But it is Rallycross, so you never know what is going to happen until you cross the finish line. I’m anxious for Friday’s event at Daytona with our DRR Oil2Soil Subaru.”

The inaugural event last Friday saw some wild racing over the virtual Hell Lankebanen circuit which was new to many of the competitors. Martell is expecting the action to settle down from last week’s first event.

“I’m pumped about my finish in the first race, but I think a lot of competitive people might have been taken out in the first turn,” Conner explained. “So, Daytona will be a really exciting race as I believe drivers will be a bit more prepared and really gunning for the top spot. It was awesome to get a podium finish in the first event and I want thank DRR, Oil2Soil, Vermont SportsCar, Alias Sports, Sim Craft and High Fives Foundation for making it possible.”

Following Friday’s Daytona race, the remaining Subaru iRX iRacing All-Star Invitational presented by Yokohama virtual events are scheduled for Sonoma Raceway (April 24), Indiana’s Lucas Oil Raceway (May 1), Atlanta Motor Speedway (May 8) and a return to Hell Lankebanen circuit for the series finale on May 15. All iRX All-Star Invitational events is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.

Subaru iRX All-Star Invitational presented by Yokohama events are streamed across iRacing’s social media platforms, with live streaming simulcasts on the Facebook pages of competitors, teams and sponsors.
