CONCORD, N.C. (February 25, 2014) – With the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway right around the corner, it’s time to bring fans fun facts for the year so they’re prepared and in-the-know before the action-packed event arrives. The nitro-fueled thrill show, April 11-13, brings three days of excitement unlike anything else in sports, with the fastest-accelerating machines on the planet unleashing a 40,000 horsepower assault on the Bellagio of drag strips. For this exclusive event, we’ve gathered the numbers that racing fans will only experience at zMAX Dragway.
Here are this year’s facts by the numbers:
40,000 – There’s nowhere else to experience it and it’s a force that demands respect. It’s the amount of horsepower fans will see, hear and feel for themselves during each Top Fuel and Funny Car pass at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. Fun fact for NASCAR fans: this is more horsepower than all the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars in the 43-car Coca-Cola 600 field combined!
330 – This number followed by mph is what brings the intensity and excitement that fans love and crave to the dragway. Top Fuel dragsters reach a whopping speed of 330 mph during the races, faster than any other form of racing. Ready to hear the top speed reached in NHRA competition? The current NHRA Top Fuel national speed record is 332.18 mph, set by Spencer Massey during the 2012 NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway.
70,000 – The number of fans estimated to attend the weekend event. Fans will travel from all parts of the U.S. and the rest of the world to come see the only four-wide NHRA drag racing on the earth. Fans have already purchased tickets from 42 states and as far away as Australia, Canada, Germany and Puerto Rico.
450 – The estimated total number of cars that will take the track during the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. This includes racing machines from the top four categories in drag racing: Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, as well as sportsman classes.
1,205,080 – Is the number of ounces of soda and water sold by zMAX Draway’s food-service partner, Levy Restaurants, during the three-day event weekend last year. Other yummy numbers include 3,230 scoops of ice cream, 600 pounds of hot dogs, and more than 2,000 lemons that are used for freshly-squeezed lemonade.
28 – The total number of luxury suites, both in the tower and grandstands, that the zMAX Dragway has available for fans or corporate sponsors who want to take their racing experience to the next level and take in the action in style.
22.75 – Gallons of nitro used in each Top Fuel pass. Never felt the power of nitro fuel
before? New fans are in for a treat as they get double the fury of two-lane dragways at the only four-lane, all-concrete dragstrip on the planet.
20 – Put a dollar sign before this number and fans have themselves a deal! Fans can purchase a single-day ticket for Friday for just $20. Fans can catch all the action of the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals with a three-day pass starting at just $99.

Five represents 2014 as the fifth year of the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. zMAX Dragway is the only place in the world where NHRA has their calendar marked for these monster machines to race four-wide. Think of it this way, fans are experiencing an exclusive event that is history in the making in one place and one place only.
4 – The only number that fans really need to know. The number of all-concrete lanes of premier drag racing at zMAX Dragway. What more needs to be said?
3 – The number of days fans get to take part in the action and experience heart-pumping, adrenaline-rushing racing like no one else can. Gates will open at 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
